As we know, lace wigs are worn by women worldwide and are in high demand. However, lace is the most delicate base material and it can be easy to tear. So there will be holes and tears in a lace wig after several usage. There’s no need to throw it, since it’s easy to repair it.
Spritz the hair using a little water and comb it through.
Turn your lace wig inside out so that the lace is facing you and you can clearly see the area you need to repair.
Clean the area that’s been ripped with acetone. Apply knot sealer, knot sealer will take about 3-5 minutes to dry. Use T-pins to pin the edges of the tear together.
Fix by stitching with thread. Locate a sturdy thread that matches the color of your lace.
Begin stitching with a straightforward overcast stitch. Keep your stitches small and near the tear so that your comb or brush will not get caught on the thread afterwards. As soon as you’ve stitched the complete tear, double knot the ribbon and cut off the excess.
Try this method when you have holes or tears in your lace wig next time, you will get your lace wig back to life. And you can find varieties of lace wigs from UniWigs.
Are you a wig wearer? Normally, your wig will get tangles after having been worn several times. Today we are going to show you how to bring your tangled wig back to life. Soak your wig.
If your wig is really tangled, you can give it a warm water soak. To do this, fill a sink with warm water and soak your wig in the water for 10-15 minutes. Saturate the tips of your wig.
Take out your spray bottle, and squirt conditioner-water onto the bottom tips of your lace wig, until the bottom 3-5 inches of the wig is fully saturated. Comb out the tips.
Using your wide-tooth comb, begin combing out the bottom 3-5 inches of the wig. Hold the hair firmly with one hand as you comb with the other hand. If the hair is quite tangled, you may need to do this in small sections, until the entire bottom of the wig is tangle-free. Continue spraying and combing.
Once the bottom 3-5 inches of the wig have been combed through, saturate the next 3-5 inches with conditioner-water, and resume combing. Continue this process until the entire wig has been combed through. Give the entire wig a final spritz with water.
If you have used quite a bit of conditioner (and especially if your wig is human hair wig), you might want to give the whole wig a spritz with clean water. Let your wig dry for several hours, combing every 30 minutes.
Leave your wig on the wig head and give it some time to dry. Every 30 minutes, give the wig a gentle comb-through. In 2-3 hours, your wig should be completely dry.
Have you learned how to detangle your wig? If you wig get tangles, try this method.
Guides for cleaning your wig will sometimes say you only need to clean your wig after 10-14 days of wear — that’s way too long. There is certainly some element of personal choice here. As a general rule of thumb, consider how long you would go between washes of your own hair. Additional factors would be perspiration, where you’ve been wearing your wig, and how many hours per day you’ve been wearing it.
Cleaning your wig too often is better than cleaning it too little. It is important to note that when you wash your wig, you will typically be without it for 24 hours or more if human hair. This is a strong reason for making sure that you buy a second wig or a back up.
Do not use regular cleaning products on them. Wig shampoos, conditioners and lusterizers are especially designed to work with the fibers that are used in the manufacturing of the wigs. This is true for synthetic and human hair wigs. The hair used in human hair wigs have been process multiple times during the wigs creation. This results in it being more susceptible to damage. The cleaning products we provide are specifically designed to clean the wigs we sell. And we highly recommend professional servicing for human hair wigs.
The most common type of hair loss seen in women is androgenetic alopecia, also known as female pattern alopecia or baldness. This is seen as hair thinning predominantly over the top and sides of the head. It affects approximately one-third of all susceptible women, but is most commonly seen after menopause, although it may begin as early as puberty. Normal hair fall is approximately 100-125 hairs per day. Fortunately, these hairs are replaced. True hair loss occurs when lost hairs are not regrown or when the daily hair shed exceeds 125 hairs. Genetically, hair loss can come from either parents side of the family.
There are two different types of hair loss, medically known as anagen effluvium and Telogen effluvium. Anagen effluvium is generally due to internally administered medications, such as chemotherapy agents, that poison the growing hair follicle. Telogen effluvium, is due to an increased number of hair follicles entering the resting stage. The most common causes of Telogen Effluvium are:
Physical stress: surgery, illness, anemia, rapid weight change.
Emotional stress: mental illness, death of a family member.
Medications: High doses of Vitamin A, Blood pressure and Gout medications.
Hormonal causes: pregnancy, birth control pills, menopause.
When the above causes of telogen effluvium are reversed or altered you should see the return of normal hair growth.
Hair loss may also occur due to dieting. Franchised diet programs which are designed or administered under the direction of a physician with prescribed meals, dietary supplements and vitamin ingestion have become popular. Sometimes the client is told that vitamins are a necessary part of the program to prevent hair loss associated with dieting. From a dermatologists’s standpoint, however, the vitamins cannot prevent hair loss associated with rapid, significant weight loss. Furthermore, many of these supplements are high in vitamin A which can magnify the hair loss.
Physical and Emotional Stress
Surgeries, severe illnesses and emotional stress can cause hair loss. The body simply shuts down production of hair during periods of stress since it is not necessary for survival and instead devotes its energies toward repairing vital body structures. In many cases there is a three month delay between the actual event and the onset of hair loss. Furthermore, there may be another three month delay prior to the return of noticeable hair regrowth. This then means that the total hair loss and regrowth cycle can last 6 months or possibly longer when induced by physical or emotional stress. There are some health conditions which may go undetected that can contribute to hair loss. These include anemia or low blood count and thyroid abnormalities. Both of these conditions can be detected by a simple, inexpensive blood test.
Hormonal changes are a common cause of female hair loss. Many women do not realize that hair loss can occur after pregnancy or following discontinuation of birth control pills. It is important to remember that the hair loss may be delayed by three months following the hormonal change and another three months will be required for new growth to be fully achieved.
